In the beautiful early spring of 2017, we are putting together two fantastic shows to raise money for the Boston Trauma Fund.
The Boston Trauma Fund was established in October 2015 by A Life A Time Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to provide loving and compassionate help to orphaned and impoverished children in China, and to show the world that every child, regardless of their race, creed, gender, and religion, deserves to experience love and to be treated with dignity and care.
In the past, the Boston Trauma Fund has helped seven young burn survivors from developing areas of China to come to Boston to receive completely free medical treatment at Shriners Hospitals for Children. The fund complements the treatments by defraying non-medical costs such as visa fees, airline tickets, housing and daily living expenses of the patients, whose families are typically in great economic hardship having exhausted their life savings on the initial burn treatments in China.
The Boston Trauma Fund was originally made possible by charitable donations from individuals from Greater Boston towns such as Sharon, Lexington, Brookline, and others, and by the relentless efforts of Boston area youth volunteers from AYLUS (Alliance of Youth Leaders) who raised money at auctions and various other events.
While we are eternally grateful to Boston Shriners Hospital for its commitment to helping our children from China, it is up to us, the expatriates, to match their efforts by raising funds to help with their stay.
In the bright sunshine of the early spring, let’s work together, hand-in-hand, to give love and care to our children.
